Installation of a wall-mounted toilet

Condensation on the surface of the cold-water tank as well as possible leaks in plumbing fixtures produce a humidity load inside the enclosure of a wall-mounted toilet. This means that the materials used for the enclosure must withstand even demanding moisture conditions. Tulppa panel is an ideal material for enclosures in areas where the enclosure is subjected to humidity loads. Tulppa wet room panels used as covering for a wall-mounted toilet do not need any treatment.

Before installing the mounting bracket of a wall-mounted toilet, the floor must be waterproofed and sealed. The wall behind the mounting bracket, which is waterproofed with Tulppa wet room panels, does not need to be tiled or treated in any way.

The Tulppa panels are installed directly on to the frame of the wall-mounted toilet using Ardex CA 20 P, Casco XtremFix, SikaBond T2 or Kiilto XPU adhesive sealant. The enclosure constructed from Tulppa panels must have an unobstructed drainage route for the water that condenses on the toilet tank and holes at the top that allow ventilation.

The Tulppa panels consist of a highly elastic material and thus it is important to transfer the load caused by the porcelain bowl directly to the frame of the mounting bracket. Small sections measuring approx. 20 x 20 mm are removed from the Tulppa panel at the bottom edge of the bowl and the cross supports of the mounting bracket. These spaces are filled in with sealing grout, after which the enclosure is tiled in the usual manner.
